Celebrating the Life of Allie
A Queen. A Friend. The Heart of CARE.
Yesterday morning, we said goodbye to one of the greatest blessings CARE has ever known.
Our sweet Allie passed away peacefully at the incredible age of 24 years old—an age that very few tigers are ever fortunate enough to reach. Every day of her life was a testament to the love, dedication, and compassionate care that surrounded her, but even more so, it was a testament to the extraordinary spirit that lived within her.
Long before CARE became what it is today, Allie was born right here in Bridgeport to a rescued tiger. She grew up alongside her beloved brother, Archie. The two shared a bond that could never be broken, and while our hearts ache today, we find comfort in imagining that Archie was waiting for her—ready to walk beside his sister once again.
Allie had a way of stealing hearts without ever trying. Visitors fell in love with her majestic beauty. Volunteers adored her gentle spirit. CAREgivers treasured every moment they spent with her. In her later years, after losing Archie, she found comfort simply being near the people who loved her. She would quietly seek out her CARE family, reminding us every day that trust is one of the greatest gifts an animal can give.
She wasn't just another tiger.
She was the light of CARE.
She was the heart of CARE.
Her legacy is woven into every corner of this sanctuary and into the lives of every person fortunate enough to know her. She taught us patience, resilience, grace, and unconditional trust. She reminded us that even the mightiest among us can possess the gentlest soul.
Today we mourn a tremendous loss, but even more, we celebrate an incredible life.
A life filled with love.
A life filled with dignity.
A life that inspired thousands.

Strong and beautiful to the very end.
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of loving you. Thank you for every snuffle, every glance, every memory, and every lesson.
You will forever be the heart of CARE.
Run free, sweet girl. Find Archie. Feel the warm sun on your face once again.
You will be forever loved, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
Allie's Bio
In her youth, Allie was a very high-spirited. She lived with her much larger brother, Archie. Usually, in a situation where a male and female live together, the male would be the dominant one in the pair. Not so with Allie and Archie! Allie wore the pants in the relationship and never put up with any nonsense from her brother. But, despite her bossing Archie around, the two were very close and loved each other dearly.
Now Allie is one of the oldest cats at CARE. She's on her own now that Archie passed away, but she spends her time flirting with her younger neighbors Nadal and Divali. She has turned into such a sweet old lady. Every day with Allie is a blessing!
