In October 2019, just a few weeks after taking in tiger cubs Kel and Leon, we got a second call from their previous owners asking if we could take in two more babies. They were supposed to go somewhere else and it had not worked out. So now, our two became four with the addition of Kona and Idris. We believe they are all siblings, but we are not 100% sure.

Kona is smaller than the other two boys. He can be sweet, but he also has a very naughty side!

One thing that has developed since Kona arrived, is his obvious issue with being cross-eyed. It wasn't apparent at first, but the older he gets, the more pronounced it gets. It impacts his ability to see quite a bit. We will have to keep a close eye on him to see how this impacts his quality of life, and his relationship with the other three cubs. Often, when a tiger cannot see very well, they get scared easily which can result in aggressive behavior. So far, that has not been a problem, but as they all get older, it might. We hope we won't have to separate him from his companions, and are doing research on any therapies we can offer him.
